Crosses (no USD in the pair) inherit two macro stories and often wider spreads. They can diversify a USD-heavy book — or silently double exposure to a region you already hold via another instrument. Map correlations before you add “just one more.”
Exotics can gap on local policy, holidays, and thin liquidity. Unless your strategy and risk limits were built for that behavior, leave them off funded prop seats. Curiosity is fine in a demo; surprise leverage is not.
